Becoming a Leader in Law Enforcement (BLLE) Course
BLLE Course Details
This one-day, 8-hour Becoming a Leader in Law Enforcement (BLLE) course is designed for officers preparing for promotion, newly appointed supervisors, Field Training Officers, specialized unit leaders, and experienced personnel committed to becoming more effective leaders within their organizations.
Leadership is not created by rank—it is earned through competence, character, trust, and consistent decision-making. Drawing upon decades of leadership experience in local, federal, and private-sector organizations, this course challenges students to examine what leadership truly means, how influence is developed, and why organizations succeed or fail based upon the quality of their leaders.
Through interactive lecture, facilitated discussion, individual reflection, and practical leadership exercises, students evaluate their personal leadership style, identify strengths and areas for growth, and develop a framework for leading with purpose, integrity, and accountability. The course emphasizes that effective leadership begins long before promotion and continues through a lifelong commitment to personal and professional development.
