Leadership in law enforcement is rarely defined by rank or title. It is defined by the decisions officers make when pressure rises, information is incomplete, and others are looking for direction.

The BLLE Online Primer: The Leadership Wake-Up Call introduces the leadership principles that experienced professionals rely on during critical moments. Through practical discussion, real-world scenarios, and guided reflection, students explore how leadership influence is developed through behavior, accountability, and decision-making under pressure.

This course introduces key concepts used throughout the Altitude leadership framework, including the Risk Model (Risk = Threat + Exposure), Command Presence and Decision Dominance, and the Altitude Tactical Decision System (ATDS). These principles are designed to help officers recognize leadership moments, communicate clearly, and guide teams effectively during uncertain situations.

The online primer serves as the foundation for the full Becoming a Leader in Law Enforcement (BLLE) course, providing students with the mindset and leadership awareness needed to perform when responsibility appears.

This course is designed to challenge officers to think critically about leadership, evaluate their own behaviors, and begin strengthening the credibility and influence required to lead within today’s law enforcement environment.
