TPOR Course Details
Officers are often confronted with high-pressure situations requiring immediate, impromptu action to rescue individuals in peril or to manage confrontations involving armed hostiles. This comprehensive three-day course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to respond effectively to these critical and unpredictable scenarios.
- Exigent Circumstance Entries: Developing and executing rapid, lawful entries in life-threatening situations.
- Tactical Incident Command: Understanding leadership and decision-making under pressure during critical incidents.
- Ambush Mitigation: Recognizing, avoiding, and responding to ambush scenarios to ensure team safety.
- Threat Orientation and Management: Assessing and neutralizing threats efficiently in dynamic environments.
Participants will engage in a blend of classroom instruction and hands-on training that emphasizes practical application and real-world scenarios. The course includes:
- Case Law Review: Detailed analysis of legal precedents and guidelines governing exigent entries and use of force, ensuring actions remain within constitutional and legal boundaries.
- Reality-Based Training Drills and Scenarios: Immersive, scenario-driven exercises simulating high-risk incidents to reinforce decision-making, tactical skills, and teamwork.
- Facilitated Discussions: Guided conversations focusing on lessons learned from real-life incidents, fostering an open exchange of strategies and experiences.
All scenarios and drills are rooted in actual events, providing students with invaluable insights into handling complex, high-stakes situations. These include:
- Managing media relations and addressing public scrutiny during and after incidents.
- Navigating agency protocols and maintaining transparency with leadership and external investigators.
- Providing support to officers and their families following Officer-Involved Shootings or other critical incidents.
- Understanding the impact of community dynamics and maintaining public trust during crisis responses.

- Facilitated discussions on stress-inoculated training
- Use of Non-Lethal Training Ammunition (NLTA) in reality-based scenarios
- Tactical Movement drills (single officer, two officers, multiple officers)
- Cover vs. Concealment realities
- Tactical Incident Command System
- Threat identification, assessing, and stacking
- Ambush mitigation
- Identification of entry points, and threshold complexities
- Limited penetration into unknown environments
- Immediate-Action Responses
Logistics
Host agency must provide:
- Classroom with AV hookup for laptops to present PowerPoint PPT
- Area where non-lethal training ammunition can be utilized
- Whiteboard or chalkboard
Students must provide:
- NLTA weapon and ammunition platforms (UTM, Simunition FX, etc.)
- Individual PPE to include eye protection, two long-sleeved shirts, long pants, and gloves
- Tactical gear to include vest and helmet
- Entry tools: ram, pick, sledgehammer, etc. (each represented agency can bring one set)
Cost
- Tuition: $495 per student
- The host agency is eligible for three free seats
Terms & Conditions
All tuition fees are due prior to the first day of instruction.
Cancelation prior to fifteen (15) days of the first day of instruction will result in 100% refund of tuition fee.
Cancelation between eight (8) and fourteen (14) days of the first day of instruction will result in 50% refund of tuition fee.
Cancelation up to seven (7) days prior to the first day of instruction will result in forfeiture of tuition.
Exceptions are considered for legal or medical alibies. Contact us if you require this option.
Student substitution is allowed.
