Tactical Patrol Officer Response (TPOR) Course

This three-day, 24-hour Tactical Patrol Officer Response (TPOR) course is designed for patrol officers, Field Training Officers, first-line supervisors, and specialized unit personnel responsible for making immediate decisions during rapidly evolving critical incidents.

Patrol officers are often the first to arrive at active violence, barricaded subjects, officer rescue situations, hostage incidents, and other life-threatening events where delaying action may result in the loss of innocent lives. These incidents demand more than tactical proficiency—they require disciplined decision-making, effective communication, coordinated movement, and the ability to rapidly solve complex problems under extreme stress.

TPOR provides officers with a practical, standardized framework for assessing threats, prioritizing critical problems, communicating a common operating picture, and executing deliberate tactical actions that reduce unnecessary exposure while preserving operational tempo. Students learn how to make lawful, defensible decisions while adapting to changing conditions and maintaining team coordination throughout the incident.

Through classroom instruction, practical exercises, and progressively challenging reality-based scenarios, students develop the confidence and competence to respond effectively when there is no time to wait for specialized resources.

Every exercise is built upon actual law enforcement incidents, allowing students to examine operational successes, identify critical decision points, and apply proven principles to realistic, high-pressure environments. Upon completion, students leave with a repeatable decision-making framework that improves tactical performance, strengthens team coordination, and enhances officer and public safety during the most demanding critical incidents.
